Woody Point: Stormy and windy and wintery

January 04, 2014 in Winter Adventure

Woody Point, NL is one of my favourite places in the world. With the winter break coming to an end, I had to try to get there for a quick snowshoe. Unfortunately the weather wasn't cooperating, with blowing snow and whiteout conditions on the roads. But I toughed it out.  I arrived in Woody Point and it was brutally quiet, blustery, and really really cold. I knew that I couldn't stay in town very long, for fear of getting stuck there -- the road conditions were deteriorating pretty quickly.

I did a quick snowshoe around the lighthouse and then called it a day and headed back to Corner Brook.
